Come say hi at booth 41 from July 22nd to July 24th in Spokane, Washington

Why use Competition Mode for your classroom?

Turn revision sessions into energizing challenges

Students tend to disengage during review or low-stakes knowledge checks. Competition Mode adds just the right amount of urgency and fun to increase attention and participation.

Unlike flashy gamification features that distract more than they help, Wooclap’s approach is purposeful, competition is a tool to enhance focus and retention.

Correct answers earn points automatically, with instant feedback after each question to help students reflect and stay motivated. It’s challenge-based learning made simple.

Keep large groups engaged and participating

In big classes or conference-style settings, it’s easy for learners to fade into the background. Competition Mode introduces real-time rankings and live feedback to keep everyone alert and involved.

Designed to adapt to any teaching setup, you can run competitions in solo mode or use Team Mode to get learners collaborating while still competing.

Display leaderboards throughout your session, show who’s leading, and wrap things up with a final ranking that celebrates participation, individually or by team.

How Wooclap’s Competition Mode works

1

Activate Competition Mode

Toggle the Competition Mode feature before launching your Wooclap event. You’ll find the option in the session settings, it only takes a second to enable.

2

Ask your questions

Run your event as usual. Participants answer live questions, and points are awarded based on accuracy and speed, creating a dynamic leaderboard in real time.

3

Display the leaderboard

At the end (or between questions), display the live leaderboard to show individual or team rankings. Celebrate top performers or use it to spark discussion and reflection.

How teachers and educators use Competition Mode with Wooclap

Gamified revision sessions

Use Competition Mode to review key concepts in a fun, fast-paced format that keeps learners engaged and helps reinforce memory retention before assessments.

Knowledge checks during live lectures

Break up longer sessions with quick competitive quizzes to re-capture attention, check understanding, and inject energy into the learning process.

Icebreakers or warm-ups at the beginning of class

Start lessons with light competition to activate prior knowledge, build confidence, and get students mentally engaged from the start.

Why teachers love using Wooclap’s Competition Mode

Leaderboard display in real time

Show participants’ rankings live on screen as they answer questions, adding excitement and visibility to performance during the session. Who will be at the top after the final question?

Point system for correct answers

Award points automatically for each correct answer to turn your session into a rewarding challenge. The number of points can vary based on question type and difficulty, encouraging both speed and accuracy.

Instant feedback for learners

Participants see how they’re doing right after each question, helping them stay motivated and reflect on their knowledge gaps.

Seamless toggle on/off option

Enable Competition Mode for select questions or moments in your session, no need to create separate events or change your content.

Works in both individual and team mode

Whether you’re quizzing solo learners or splitting the class into teams, Competition Mode adapts. Use it with Team Mode to encourage collaboration and group strategy while keeping the competitive spirit alive.

Add time pressure to boost focus

Want to raise the stakes? Add a countdown timer to limit response time and ramp up the energy. Time pressure keeps learners alert and turns your quiz into a fast-paced race for the top.
