We're excited to showcase the enhanced capabilities of our new LTI 1.3 integration. Why upgrade? The LTI 1.3 integration offers a significantly improved user experience and new features, including:

Simplified synchronization settings

With the new integration, syncing Wooclap with your LMS is more straightforward than ever. This improvement reduces setup time, allowing educators to focus more on what matters most: teaching and engaging with their students.

Enhanced user experience

We've listened to feedback from educators and learning technologists to refine our UX. The result? A more intuitive interface that makes it easier for presenters to create and manage interactive sessions directly from their favorite LMS.

Synchronizing attendance and participation grades

With the updated integration, you can choose to synchronize student attendance or participation grade directly within the student's gradebook. This new functionality allows educators to effortlessly track and record student engagement. 

An attendance grade can be automatically assigned—100% if the attendance sheet is signed and 0% if it's not—ensuring accurate attendance tracking. 

Additionally, a participation grade can be awarded based on student interaction, with points given for every question answered, regardless of whether the answers are correct or incorrect. Teachers can also offer bonus points to students who have actively participated throughout the semester and use this data to identify those who may need extra support, based on their engagement levels.

To sum up, within an LMS you will now be able to synchronize either all or some of these elements:

• Participant results based on the correctness of their answers

Example: During her Biology class, Sarah correctly answered 7 out of 10 questions, earning a 70% result that reflects her performance based on the correctness of her answers. This feature provides a consistent way to measure student understanding of the topic/concept being learnt.

• The attendance grade (100% or 0%)

Example: Chris attended his French class and logged in to Wooclap within the teacher’s event. He will be marked as 100% attendance grade. If he had missed the class or failed to confirm his attendance through Wooclap, his attendance grade would have been recorded as 0%. This feature helps teachers keep an accurate record of student presence and participation.

• The participation grade

Use case example: During a Physics class, John answered 8 out of 10 questions, getting him an 80% participation score. Regardless of whether his answers were correct, John may receive bonus points for actively participating in the class. Active participation, regardless of accuracy,is a great way for students to stay engaged and improve their understanding over time.
