Leiden University has leveraged Wooflash to develop "Family Dinner," an app designed to enhance students' critical thinking skills through real-life scenarios.
Created by psychology professors Zsuzsika Sjoerds and Sebo Uithol, the app helps students identify argumentative errors, rhetoric, biases, and logical fallacies. Inspired by a student's question and an existing game called Cranky Uncle, the creators used Wooflash, an intelligent microlearning platform based on neuroscience and adaptive learning, to develop the app.
Recently licensed by the university, Wooflash played a key role in developing the pilot version of “Family Dinner”. The creators built and tested this pilot version on Wooflash, which facilitated the creation of realistic scenarios where students could practice identifying logical errors in a fun and engaging way. This approach has not only made learning more attractive but has also garnered positive feedback from users, encouraging the creators to consider expanding the app to include additional courses.
